Nicki Minaj Releases "Anaconda" Video, Taylor Swift and Gaga announce new albums.
Nicki Minaj, who has slowly been releasing singles from her upcoming album Pinkprint released the ass-tastic video to her Sir Mix-A-Lot ripped second single "Anaconda". The video is a plethora of twerking that ends with a her teasing Drake while a giddy one-sided conversation about big asses by Minaj plays. Full of ass, gorgeous women, and good eye candy.
In other music news, every tweens favorite drama queen Taylor Swift announced her new album and single this week. "Shake it Off", not to be confused with the 2011 Florence +The Machine song of the same name, will be the first single from her fifth studio album 1989, slated to be released on Oct. 27. The single's video played during a Yahoo! livestream on Aug. 18, and the album was available for pre-sale afterward. Swift has called this her first truly pop album.
Teaming up once again are Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga who recorded an entire album together called Cheek to Cheek. The 11-song set full of covers will be the first album the two have recorded together, and their first collaboration since Bennett's Duets II in 2011, where the pair sang "The Lady is a Tramp". Cheek to Cheek will be released on Sept. 23 and features the songs "Anything Goes"," I Won't Dance" and "Cheek to Cheek".
The Recording Academy announced this week that almost 13,000 submissions were made to the academy in the first-round entry period for consideration at the 57th Grammy Awards in February. Lasting from July 1 to July 23, a second and final round of entry is currently underway for media companies and members until August 27. The eligibility window for the 57th Grammy Awards runs from Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2014. Awards will be handed out on Feb. 8, 2015.
